The Most Important Things...

8 years ago today my life changed. That day started with an early morning ride from our home in Alvord to my uncle's house for a breakfast of toast and juice, then on to the hospital. That day ended with me being a father for the first time. Rachael Kathryn Blake (Katy), my beautiful daughter and oldest child is turning 8 today.

Let me describe the perfect life:
Everyday is an adventure, you have someone who loves you unconditionally and thinks that you know everything, there are a million new things to do, reading a 10 page book is cause for celebration, mowing the lawn or taking out the trash becomes a game, at any moment you can be attacked by 'bad guys' in the hallway, ordering pizza is like christmas, if your team is losing you can change to the other team any time you want, and the best thing about this perfect life.... kisses will heal anything.

This is the extraordinary life of a parent. I have 3 kids and will have 4 around March 31st... it is the most outstanding thing on the planet. Patrick is only 8 1/2 months old, and he will now try to do itsy-bitsy spider by himself... it is the most beautiful, hilarious, and wonderful thing to watch.
Children are the greatest thing that can happen to anyone. Watching them grow and learn one thing after another is outstanding. My life changed forever 8 years ago and has only gotten better and richer as I do more with my children and watch them grow into little people. Katy, Darian and Patrick are the most perfect parts of me. They are truly the reason I live and why I'm working to make things better for my family.
