Las Vegas = 99¢ Shrimp Cocktails

Since my very first trip to Las Vegas (as an adult) when my Dad introduced me to the 99¢ Shrimp Cocktail; I cannot go there without having one. To me, this is the very essence of Las Vegas! A great treat for very little money. Heck, I enjoy sampling all the buffets and $8 steaks just as much as gambling!

There are a few places that have the 99¢ Shrimp Cocktail but I'm set in my tradition to always have it at the Golden Gate Club, downtown next to the Plaza. So, we headed over, shortly after arriving in Vegas to get our lovely, tasty, chilled treat! Danielle hates seafood, so she was out, but David, Aubrey and I had some sweet, sweet little shrimps.

I realized later in the trip that it wasn't just the 99¢ Shrimp Cocktail that I loved over at the Golden Gate, but also the 'old school' and vintage feel of the place. It's decked out in wood and brass trimmings instead of neon and glimmering lights, like most Vegas joints. And it's considerably smaller than most other casinos, even for being in Downtown Vegas. It probably has something to do with my love of all things vintage and maybe because it's the first place me and my Dad hung out in Vegas, but one thing is for sure... When I'm in Vegas, you'll find me having 99¢ Shrimp Cocktails and playing Black Jack at the Golden Gate Club.
